We got Bailey on 6/24. She is a beautiful and smart pup. She slept through the night with no whining from the first night home and was housebroken within 2 weeks. She is incredibly smart and a little stubborn. We have started obedience training and at 14 weeks, she knows sit, stay, down and down stay. She is pointing birds and grasshoppers when we walk. Everything I was looking for in a puppy, she is going to be a fantastic dog.

We just wanted to express our gratitude to Dennis for such a wonderful dog. We picked up Bella about 3 weeks ago. She is BEAUTIFUL, smart, and spunky. She has a fabulous personality and really aims to please. She is doing well on a leash, is pretty consistent with sit and is learning come, and is coming along in housebreaking. She adapted to our family immediately and we cant imagine our lives without her in only 3 short weeks. Thanks again Dennis for allowing us to adopt this wonderful pet.

We just picked up our GSP pup on June 24, 2011 from Dennis at Greyrocks Gun Dog Kennels and we have been very happy with the service we received from Dennis. Our puppy Abby is very smart and seemed like even when we first brought her home she already knew how to sit and really wanted to please us. She is now only a little over 9wks old and already knows to go to the door when she needs to go out (most of the time). She has a beautiful healthy coat and everyone raves about how cute she is. She is very good with other dogs and loves to play. If we ever need another GSP we would for sure go back to Dennis at Greyrock.

We brought Montegue (Monte) home on Friday, and cannot be happier with the newest member of our family! He is beautiful, bright, playful, and a little mischievous - perfect! I was a little worried about lack of sleep this weekend, but he did great in his kennel. Thank you, Dennis! We will keep you posted and send pictures.

Dan Adams of Brunswick, OH

Chief born in March 2010, turned 1 year old this year and has continued to display an extraordinary natural ability. Chief is by far one the best GSP that I have ever owned. I was only able to get him out one time last fall, but he worked like a veteran dog. Since the weather has improved this spring he is very active working in the back yard and is a pleasure to watch as he comes to point on the ducks, geese and robins that land in the yard and neighboring fields. He loves kids and often provides photo opportunities especially with our neighbors toddlers. I am looking forward to getting him out more often this fall.

Dennis,

I know it has been too long, but I thought I would drop you a note about Belle. Belle was from the Hank and Abby litter whelped 9/28/2010.

We picked Belle up the day after Thanksgiving 2010. Since that day she has been an integral part of our lives. She has been a wonderful pet and addition to the family. My wife says that she has never seen a dog that is more affectionate and caring. She house broke effortlessly, and is quiet in the house, she never barks! I cannot begin to tell you how many people have told us how beautiful and well behaved she is. Most people are surprised to find that she is still a puppy based upon her obedience and behavior. As I type this she is laying in the sun by the patio door looking out.

After bringing her home I joined the “German Shorthair Pointer Club of Greater Pittsburgh” and Belle and I have been working hard on our field work. I must say that the majority of the work is to make me better. She has a tremendous amount of natural ability and although it is early, she exhibits very good manners around birds. Her temperament has made her a quick study and easy to train. She has been pointing and holding birds since she was 12 weeks old. Several members of my club have puppies around the same age and Belle has shown a tendency to naturally honor the other dogs.

At 7.5 months old Belle has completed the testing for her ACK Junior Hunter title. In spite of conditions that ranged from bad (heavy rain) to horrible (pounding sleet/rain and 35+ mph winds) in each of the 4 tests, she earned her title by passing in all 4. She never received an individual score lower than 7. The 7s, she received (a total of 4), 3 of which occurred in “Handling” which is more a result of my influence than a mark against her. Like I said I have as much or more to learn as she does. She consistently scored 8s and 9s in “Hunting”, “Bird Finding”, and “Pointing”.

I guess what I am really saying is that she truly is EVERYTHING you said she would be! My wife and I are grateful for Belle and owe you a sincere thank you for the work you put into your breeding program. I have nothing but GREAT things to say about Greyrock.

Thanks again,
Matt

Dear Dennis:

I have owned and bred pointing dogs for over 30 years. I want to thank you for the opportunity to adopt one of the best pointing dogs I have ever hunted with. Tanner joined our family about three years ago. He is a very people friendly dog and primarily an outdoor pet that runs on our property, but he is the first hunting dog that I have had in the house. He is great around my 1 1/2 year-old grandson.

The primary reason I got Tanner was for his hunting companionship. He has proven to be very easy to train; has great instinct and excellent scenting ability. Im a meat and potatoes type of hunter. Tanner will hunt close when I call him in or he has the ability to range in open country. He has natural propensity to quarter into the wind and hold point forever. Im looking forward to getting another pup from your kennel. I cant wait to see the two dogs hunting together in the future. Thanks for breeding and nurturing such great shorthairs.

Bill Downey of Morgantown WV

This is my second dog from Dennis and she is a gem. My first was in the field hunting at 11 months and working right beside my 8 year old dog. Two days ago I had my first solid points on live birds, from Annie, my 5 month old, I received from Dennis last fall. The weather just turned and I was able to start working her outside. Those first points are always the greatest and most memorable. This dog has great character and style. As the bird flushed she watched with the upmost intensity and eager. On to the second bird and she was even more impressive, solid as a rock. Dennis breeds some of the finest dogs money can buy. Now I will have a hard time waiting for next pheasant season. Thanks for the joys of my life Dennis.
